Looking back

I may be heading down to my home town at the end of the month to go to Heather Williams CD release concert. Should be awesome...but enough on that for now.
It got me thinking about 'home'. Do you feel like your hometown will always be 'home'? I love it here in Greensboro, I think it is one of the best cities in America to live. But I do miss Florida from time to time. So...I hit up Google Earth and thought I would bring you into my hometown and some of my memories.
Heres my childhood neighborhood. The blue roofs are tarps. At the time this was taken, it had just had a hurricane go through...another fond memory, believe it or not. Hurricane parties are great! I cant tell you how many times I rode my bike around that block! I have so many stories that took place on that one little section of the planet. You can barely see it, but behind our house was a shed building that my dad and I built ourselves when I was like 13. Really good memories there.

Here is Oleander Park. Some of my greatest times as a kid were here. I could ride my bike to the park and play. I learned how to play baseball here. My dad was the coach and when we made an error we had to run around the entire park. In high school years other things happened at the park, but we wont talk about any of those things.... :)

This is the Fort Pierce Inlet. Ocean on the right, Indian River on the left. You can see the 'jetty' here. The jetty was the place to go fish, hang out, talk with the locals. Especially cool during hurricanes, the waves would crash into the rocks and spray up over the jetty. Good times.

More later, maybe!
