Cinderella

When I put myself in SCC's shoes, I don't know...all I think I would feel is anger. I really don't know if I would recover from something like this or not. Even thinking about a dark place like SCC is going through literally makes me ill.

I never wanted to listen to the song "Cinderella" and it was kind of a joke, really because it is about the little girl growing up and moving on. I joked about it, but in reality it was difficult to listen to as a father of girls.

I listened to it today and those lyrics just hit hard. Really hard.


Im going home to play with my Cinderella's.

Sunday Brain Download

Great service today. It was so good to be back with everyone at our campus. Numbers are still up and we had quite a few out today so that is awesome. Newcomers was fun as usual. Great people and added a couple of members today. And to make it even better, he plays drums and she sings, and they both have experience in student ministry! That could be huge for us as we grow.

Having Cindy and Randy and Cynthia pray for me before service makes such a difference.

Response time was good too. One individual that has openly said that she isn't sure exactly what she believes raised her hand for salvation today. That was really cool to see.

Went on a bike ride with Samantha and had a good talk over cookies by the lake. That was nice. Got to go see Iron Man with some guys tonight. That was much needed after spending 4 days with 5 females and a female cat. Testosterone levels are getting back to normal.

After Iron Man, I picked up Aaralyn and we went to Coldstone for ice cream. She is an awesome kid. Of course, this is what always happens...

What does God think?

What does God think of me?
How different is it than what I think of me.
I would really like to know...I think.

Spend some time with me in the next week fasting, praying and asking that question. I think I want to know the answer....do you?

Working on these things....

Ok, so I thought I would list some things going on in my head for the future of our campus and my personal ministry. Let me know your thoughts on them.

1. Knock a wall down to allow more room for pre-schoolers on Sunday mornings! Good problem to have. And knocking stuff down is fun too. This will be happening within the next couple of weeks!
   
2. Get rid of the pews in favor of chairs. If you have an extra $10K laying around it would help. Nothing personal about the pews. They are just constricting and only allow us to use the largest area of our facility once a week. Thats not good stewardship of God's provision. Also, it makes getting in and out of your seat during response time pretty tough.
3. Start a class on getting going with a written spiritual growth plan. I should have this ready to go by the end of May.
   
4. Hire a PT worship leader. I love leading worship, but I have begun to realize my limitations and I dont want my limitations to limit what God wants to do at our campus.
   
5. Really build into our leadership team. They are awesome and I want to spend more time with them developing their leadership and gifts. I would love for us to all do a Strengths Finder together.
6. I want to really dig into scripture and know it better than I do. Not being the primary communicator sometimes seems to make it excusable to not have to get real intimate with scripture and that isn't good. God, forgive me and help me!
7. I would like to begin the process of identifying and building into a leader to pastor a Raleigh area campus within the next 3 years. If not Raleigh, then somewhere in the Triad. Thinking of being able to spoke out and increase our influence really gets me going.
8. I want to develop relationships with area Pastors, and also deepen my relationships with the Pastors who are over me.
   
9. We need to expand our lobby at the campus. As we grow, it is getting crowded in there. Again, great problem to have, but we have to make it a comfortable place to come.
10. I want to get organized. Let me rephrase that...I would like someone to help me get organized! A smart phone would be a great start...
    

Man, I am just really excited about how things are going right now. We are growing great, people are coming to Jesus, and life change is happening. I just want to position us to continue what is happening now and keep ridin' the wave!
