First post of 2009.... lets hope I do better at blogging than last year!
Had a God thought the other night. Ever have one of those? Comes out of nowhere, but is profound and sets into motion a whole range of thoughts and ideas?
Heres the thought I had.
New Years resolution time...never a big deal with me. I guess cause I don't have any major vices. I dont smoke, Im not overweight, I dont drink too much, my mouth is somewhat under control...so what should my resolution be? I could come up with a few, I guess but heres the thought that came to me... There are so many unknowns this year for all of us. Lots of blanks to be filled between now and 2010. How about we get out of the way and let God fill in those blanks?
Then I found Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words
I dont know what to ask for in 2009. I think I'll pray that the Holy Spirit will fill in the blanks.

I like that. I was just thinking the other day that I wanted to learn how to pray better. Jesus spent so much time talking to the Father, it seems like that was his "down time". I was thinking the other day that I spend so much down time doing other things than praying. I would like to know how Christ did it. Praying is such work for me and I'm curious to know how I can make it a relaxinging reset time for myself the way he did. For us, I think maybe the Spirit interceding may be part of that.
